We have cats!

 Did you know we have cats?  

The other day, the kids and I were talking about how old each of the cats were and we couldn't agree.  So, I decided I needed to research and get the ages of all of them.  So here they are in oldest (but newest to us) to youngest.

First off, we have Remy and Ollie.  We inherited them over the summer after their previous owner passed away.  They are Scottish Folds.  They are 17 years old (2005).  Update: both Remy and Ollie passed away in 2024 a few months apart.  They were 19 years old.

Then we have Daisy.  She is 13 years old (2009) - born the same year as Andrew but we didn't get her until she was a year old.  Cairn purchased her for $1.00 in October of 2010 from the Dumb Friends League.  She is very small Bombay.

Next up is Jewel.  She is 11 years old (2011).  She was adopted with a sister, but she died before we had her for a year.  Jewel is now completely deaf and almost blind.  She used to be very skittish but now she is very calm.  She is a Blue-seal point Siamese.

Next up is Oreo.  He was born in 2012.  We got him from a local rescue because Mom is too soft.  We were at the pet store, saw him and fell in love.  The rest is history.  He is also a Bombay.

Finally, we have Pip.  She is 6 years old and was born in 2016.  We inherited her from a friend who ended up having a kid that was allergic to her.  She is a Norwegian Forest cat, according to the vet but the previous owner says she is a Burmese.

So, we have mostly girls, half of them have their claws, the long-haired cats stay mostly downstairs, while the others stay upstairs.  They mostly live in harmony but every once in a while, you will hear some scuffles. None of them like the dogs (the newest ones haven't met any service dogs yet),
