We woke up early so we could get to breakfast. As soon as we walked out the lodge door we saw these 2.
We got to lunch and the girls were super excited about the oatmeal and donuts and tons of fruit that they could eat as much as they wanted.
After lunch, the sun was shining so brightly that we got a picture of the troop with a beautiful mountain the background.
One of the girls suggested a picture of the moms so here we all are too.
After breakfast, the troop separated by sending the Juniors to archery while the Brownies and Daisy's headed out on a hike to work on their Drawing badge. While we hiked we looked for a good spot to draw a landscape. The girls did a nice job of finding lots of interesting scenery but this was our favorite.
We kept walking and we ran into this fuzzy elk. He just checked us out.
We finally found our spot and we decided to do still lifes with natural materials. Cairn is setting up her piece.
After our drawings we headed back to the lodge a different route and found this playground. The kids didn't get to play much because there were some mean looking clouds heading over the mountain. We had to get back quick or we were going to be wet.
After lunch (are we on a cruise? I feel like I am eating every couple hours) we headed to the pool for a short swim. After our swim, we had reserved a room to do crafts - the kids painted birdhouses, made notebooks and painted butterfly magnets. We played a couple games and then headed out the door to dinner.
After dinner, we went on a night hike, learned about nocturnal animals and using our senses (other than sight). We played a fun game in the middle of a field and then headed back for smores and campfire.
While we were eating our smores, the rain started again so we headed back to the lodge to play some more games, do some more crafts and get ready for bed. One of the moms brought glow in the dark bracelets so the kids had a great time playing in the dark - they came up with many different games.
We didn't get to bed before 11 PM but it was much quieter tonight. Everyone was tired from the long day.

Mother/Daughter Weekend
Cairn woke up feeling pretty good but I had her stay in bed. I called the doctor at 7 AM to get an appointment for Skylar and we got an appointment at 10:30 AM.
I packed, organized stuff for crafts and tried to get everything ready before we had to leave.
At 9:45 AM, a nurse called about Skylar and Andrew and she approved antibiotics over the phone. We had to wait for the doctor to sign off on the prescription before we could go pick it up.
Finally, at 12:30 we hadn't heard back from the doctor so I headed to the office to see if I could find a nurse to take the script to the doctor so I could get it filled before 2 PM - our departure time.
I made it back to the house at 2:10, rushed the girls into the car and we headed out the door.
It was an easy drive with some snow, some traffic and lots of beautiful scenery. I would have stopped a couple times but I knew the girls wanted to get there.
Skylar picked out her bunkbed!!
Cairn and her friend O on Cairn's bunkbed.
It was snowing when we left for our trek to the dining room and it was snowing even harder when we had to walk back.
Dinner buffet style. There wasn't much for us vegans so I had to request 3 vegan meals for us. They brought us out huge platefuls of rice and tofu - it was delicious.
All the girls in the troop sitting around the kid table to eat, while the moms got there own table.
After dinner we walked back to our lodge, played Charades, watched a skit and did a craft before bedtime. All of our troop were in the rooms ready for bed by 10 PM but no one could get to sleep until after 11 PM when quiet time was started. We thought there were herds of cattle or elephants running around upstairs and down our hallway. Finally, it was quiet and we fell asleep.
