Girl Scouts then school - in that order

We started off the day at Girl Scouts for our weekly troop meeting.  Everyone but one Scout was there - it was a very full room especially since the beginning was a parent/Scout meeting to prepare for our Fall Sale.  Yes, we will be selling nuts, candy and magazines soon.  After the training, we finished planning for our overnight camping trip in September.  It is going to be whirlwind of activity.

After Girl Scouts, we had to go to the bank to get my new signer on the Girl Scout account registered.  Then we went home for a super late lunch and then we finally got down to schoolwork.

Cairn worked on adjectives, Spanish, and simplifying fractions.  Remember Cappy had told me about that wonderful site, Khan Academy?  Well, they finally had a student account for under 13's available so the girls could log in as themselves and do the assigned lessons I wanted them to do.  So Cairn worked hard on fractions.  She watched a couple videos and then did some practice problems.  When she got stuck she could either watch the video that was connected to that problem or I could help her.  I helped her out a couple times.  She didn't complain once about doing math today.  She even asked to do some review of other types of problems.  She also worked really hard on her piano.  Cairn is back in class as of last Friday but unfortunately she is going to miss the next 2 weeks of piano due to our trip.  Her piano teacher is thrilled but what can you do.  Cairn got all of her schoolwork finished today that was assigned.  I made a HUGE deal about this - doesn't it feel good to have all your work done today and tomorrow you can wake up with a clean plate?  I bet you feel really proud of getting all your work done and on and on.

Skylar worked on learning about the Grand Canyon, /sh/ and /ch/ in phonics, creating an imaginary picture using lines and shapes and piano.  She had some attitude today but she did finish all her schoolwork too.  And again, I made a BIG deal about it so we can continue this behavior.

Andrew worked on cutting, coloring, writing letters and his piano - which included recognizing his numbers 1 through 5, drawing quarter notes, and his finger numbers.  I told him tonight that he has piano tomorrow and I thought he was going to jump out of bed he was so excited.

Mom update - I talked to the doctor this morning and I do have a bacterial infection so she put me back on my antibiotic, continue my ibuprofen (600 mg every 6 hours) and go to my ultrasound appointment on Wednesday.  That ultrasound will be a complete one and not the one spot one that I had at the emergency room.  She was very disappointed in what the ER did for me but she wasn't at work so that wasn't her fault. I am still in a lot of pain but I try to keep busy so I don't focus on the pain.  My doctor doesn't know why I have the pain is in my entire body but hopefully the antibiotic will knock out the infection and help that.
