Ahhhh....new week

So a new week is starting and things are beginning to run smoothly again.

Skylar, Andrew and I were out the door early today to get her to PT.  She always has to do a warm up activity to get her legs warmed up before her massage.  She has ridden a bike and a scooter around the office, but today it was MOON BOOTS.
How fun do those things look?
Anyway, we had a good appointment, she did not regress at all.  The therapist was at a loss as to why she didn't have any leg pain whatsoever in NC but had one bad night when we got back.  I am going to keep a pain calendar for the whole year and see if there is any pattern looking at a year time period.  She returns to the doctor in July and the therapist if the pain gets worse again.

Back at home, the kids practiced the piano and played.  C came over as soon as she saw we were home.

Skylar had a playdate at A's house today so I took the other 3 kids to the library.  There we ran into a friend and got to chat for a bit.  I found a couple new Read Alouds I want to read and picked up a hold.

When we got home, these 3 worked on a craft - sand art.

Andrew with his completed project.  He was very proud and wanted to do another one.  I told  him we would find some more since he did such a nice job.

At 4, we picked up Skylar but ended up staying an hour so mom could visit with A's mom.  We made it home in time for me to start dinner, the kids to clean up their messes and play a little Wii fit for some exercise.  I was pretty upset when the Wii say that both Skylar and Cairn were overweight.  I explained to Cairn that the machine only knows typical 9 year olds and she is much taller than most so no worries.  Skylar is mostly muscle so I don't know what to say to that.  But she knows she is not fat.

Cairn reported to me tonight that she loves her new clipboard check off sheet.  She carried it around and felt very responsible for accomplishing what she needed to do without any "Mom reminders".  That's an easy thing to continue doing.  She didn't earn her dollar though as it took her all day to get her Morning list completed.  I think she is okay with that today.  She did ask for a night time check off sheet.  I will start working on that.

My back appears to be doing better.  I can lift things and walk without holding my back.  There is something definitely still there but it isn't stopping me today.  I keep listening to see what my body is trying to tell me though.

Tonight, I was on Facebook (FB) and saw that a high school friend lost her son in a tragic ATV accident yesterday.  He was only 15.  I had recently caught up with her again.  Reading about what happened certainly made me hug my kids tonight - life can end so quickly and so unexpectedly.
