Everyone was up early and ready to head out for the day. We had breakfast at Love Muffin Cafe and then headed to the park.
We picked up our Junior Ranger books. We had to watch the video about the park so Skylar decided to put on her own show before the video started.
Then we headed out to see the rock formations.
First, Balanced Rock
Then we took a hike at Double Arches.
The boys like to climb around on the rocks and under the rocks.
I got one of the arches in the picture. See it above their heads?
Then we tried to see the Sandbox but it was too windy.
After a couple more hikes, we sat down to finish up our Ranger books.
We sat near Balanced Rock so our drawings would be inspired by the incredible balancing act.
After turning in our Ranger books the kids played outside on the statues before we headed back to town.
These pictures below were taken with a different camera. This was on our way to Landscape Arch. This is the Arch that a piece fell off in the 90's. People used to be able to climb under it but now you have to stop well before you get to it. It is amazingly long and thin in places.
A friend of ours (I can't remember who now) said that an arch fell within the last couple years so to be sure to see where it used to be. We thought she might have meant Landscape Arch but I decided to ask the Rangers just to be sure. She was right,
Wall Arch fell in 2008.
In town, we checked out a rock store, ate dinner at Moab Brewery, then took a swim before heading to bed. Tomorrow, we drive home.
