When I said it was time to go to the pool, they all raced outside and got in the car. They didn't bother to get towels, or snacks or water. I did grab the towels and a water for me but left the rest since no one was helping. We got to the pool and everyone but Cairn raced inside - they left the towels in the car but Cairn carried in the toys.
We were in the pool for about 20 minutes when they closed the pool because some little kid pooped in the pool. We hung out for a while but then decided to head to another pool that was open. We loaded up and walked to the car. Do you know what I found? My car door wide open!!!! The kids that got out on the opposite me didn't even bother to close the door. Needless to say, I was LIVID!! I lined up the three that got out on that side (N, C and D) and yelled at them in the parking lot.
We made it to the other pool but I wasn't happy. After a couple hours, I loaded them back up and took them home so I could get ready for my night out with some friends. I made dinner before I left and the minute Dad walked in, I walked out.
I picked up a friend and headed to Golden to eat at Sherpa House. It was wonderful. I had never been so it was a treat.
When we walked up the stairs, we saw a beautiful garden and this prayer wheel.
Some of our surroundings.
The menu said the restaurant is decorated in a typical household of a Sherpa in Nepal, including a family room with a kitchen, a shrine room and a gallery room.
Finally, the crew I was with.
Liese had been to Sherpa House many many times so she helped us all out with ordering. One of the ladies knew she wanted to order something with yak. She decided that was the last time she would do that. The couple ordered a sampler meal to share and they enjoyed it. My friend that I brought had the vegetable Daal Bhat - it looked fantastic. I ordered the vegetarian sampler with Saag Paneer, some chickpea dish, a cauliflower dish and Daal soup. I also ordered a vegetable samosa appetizer. The Paneer had cheese and cream in it so I asked if they could exchange it for another dish. The waitress said the kitchen was too busy. I thought that was an odd response. I tried to find something else but decided just to get it anyway and take the cheese dish home to Dad. It was wonderful food, company and just what I needed after my day.
The restaurant doesn't have any air conditioning. When we first sat down we were all pretty hot but a storm moved in while we were eating and cooled the restaurant down a little. When we finally left 3 hours later, it was pouring rain. The streets were flooded and it was hard to see. I don't know Golden very well so I struggled a little but made it home safely. Cairn was the only one awake but the other 2 were in bed with Dad. There had been a lot of thunder and they climbed in with him. I tried to get them to their beds but couldn't so I ended up sleeping in Skylar's bed. It would have been a good night sleep except Oreo - he bugged me all night long. Hopefully, tomorrow is a better day.
