Friend's Funeral

I went to a funeral today while the kids stayed home with Dad.

The funeral was for a friend of mine from high school.  He was a firefighter for West Metro.

It was a very moving and emotional funeral.  I found some other friends from high school and we all sat together.  We all cried together too.

The funeral included the Color Guard and many firefighters.  There were speakers, a video presentation, songs and readings.

After the funeral I came home, took a bath and then a nap. I just couldn't function the rest of the day.

I am not sure why I am having such a difficult time but I am.  I am finding peace in the words from the Fire Chief.  He said, that since T was taken from us too early, that instead of saying Rest in Peace, he has an assignment for T - to be our guardian angel.  I like that and whenever he pops into my head, I try to remember that.

I have so much more to say but can't seem to get the words out right now.

I hope tomorrow is better.
