The kids have been begging for the last 3 days to get the Christmas decorations and the tree up. Today I finally had the energy to tackle the big job. We got all the decorations up by lunch time and then I made the kids wait until the sun went down to put up the tree. They didn't like that idea at the time but as soon as they realized how much prettier it was to put up when you could actually see the lights they appreciated waiting.
Andrew helped unload the tree box by getting inside it.
Cairn put the lights on the tree.
Then everyone worked together to put on the ornaments.
We put up some extra lights around the TV room and when the kids went to the bed they all commented on how pretty everything looked.
While I was putting Skylar to bed, she mentioned that she was a little worried.
I asked, "What about?"
Skylar said "I am worried that I am on Santa's naughty list."
I asked, "what can you do about that?'
Skylar said, "I can be nice."
I asked, "When do you think you should start that?"
She said, "Right now." and she gave me a huge hug and thanked me for a wonderful day.
