BaoBao Festival

Today, all 6 kids woke up before 8 AM.  I couldn't believe it after they went to bed after 11 PM.  Crazy.

Anyway, I made tons and tons of pancakes with strawberry sauce.  All the kids ate a lot of pancakes.

The kids started playing on the Wii but then the girls grew tired of that and did another craft.

Today they made butterflies with a coffee filter and chenille stem.  They didn't turn out as well as they wanted so they added some tissue paper.  Much better.

C and N left by 9:30 and Z left at 11 AM.  Then my kids had some lunch and just kinda unwound.

This afternoon we had a library event to go to - the BaoBao Festival.  In Ghana, Africa, people have gathered under the baobab tree to sing, dance, drum and tell stories for as long as anyone can remember. While we didn't see a baobab tree, we didn watch African performers introduce their songs, stories and dances.

After the event, we checked out some books and movies, played on the library computers for a bit.

Tonight for dinner we had slow cooker potato and leek soup.  We thought it was fantastic.  Creamy and yummy.

The kids watched Oliver and Company and then went to bed 30 minutes early.  They were all dragging today.

Tomorrow is back to school.  Our week off was a nice break but I am glad to be going back to school.
