So everyone came home on Monday night. Andrew was just exhausted but wanted to be near mom so he ended up sleeping with me. A few hours later, I figured out why he wanted to be so close. About 1 AM, I woke up because I was so incredibly hot - it was Andrew cooking the bed with his 102 degree temperature. I woke Dad to find out if he had been sick on the trip and that's when I found out he had been coughing.
I gave him some Tylenol and went back to sleep. In the morning, he still had a high temperature and he looked and felt miserable. I got him to the doctor late in the afternoon - he had a double ear infection, swollen lymph nodes and a red throat. Swabbed the throat, got some antibiotics and went home to rest.
Wednesday was a day of recovery for Andrew. By mid-afternoon he was himself again. Dad still wanted to get out of town so we loaded the car back up in preparation of heading out Thursday morning.
