Where did the week go?

All of a sudden my evenings got busy too so I wasn't doing a good job of blogging because by the time I got home I was beat.

But to catch up

Wednesday - Andrew had therapy and he continues to make amazing progress.  He has his /s/ sound now almost automatic but he can do it spontaneously (meaning he can do it correctly at the single word level) but not in a sentence.  After therapy, we got some schoolwork finished and then took Cairn to a friend's for a playdate.  Then I went to the gym to ride 10 miles while Skylar and Andrew played in the gymnasium with a babysitter.  Then we headed back to the house to pick up the cookies I needed to return to the cupboard, raced back out to pick up Cairn then return the cookies and then finally home so I could get a quick dinner on the table and head out to my Girl Scout leader meeting.  It was one crazy day of running back and forth.

Thursday - started off with us out the door by 9 AM so I could run a couple errands for Girl Scouts before we headed to our service project at Vi but I wasn't thinking and had to return to the house 2 times because I kept forgetting things and I still forgot something we needed.  After Vi, Skylar and I went to piano where she had a solo.  After piano we headed home to play with friends, then out to get Andrew's haircut and then home for a quick dinner before we headed out to see a pianist perform.  I told the kids before we left that if we weren't enjoying the performance we would leave at intermission but we had to stay until then.  Well, it was such a FANTASTIC performance that we stayed until the end.  We saw Jon Schmidt.  Here is our favorite song.

We all went to bed afterwards with his wonderful music in our heads.  Both the girls loved it and want to play the piano like him.  If we ever hear of another concert by him we will go for sure, it was inspiring.  No one should miss him.

Friday - I spent most of the day getting ready for our trip to Pueblo but in the end we decided not to go because of the cold and snow we were expecting.  So I slowed down a little and get little stuff around the house until we left for the Girl Scout PJ party.  Skylar and Cairn both got to go - they did a fashion show, decorated a pillowcase, had milk and cookies while listening to a story and then played games.  Andrew got to go too because Dad had to work late and he loved being made over by a lot of the leaders.  He also got to have some milk and cookies.  We made it home before the snow started and everyone went straight to bed, exhausted.

Saturday - I spent the day doing laundry and cleaning the house since I had an unexpected day at home since we canceled the trip.  It was just a nice work day.  We did quiet time and put everyone to bed on time.

Sunday - my sinus infection finally put me down.  I couldn't handle the headache anymore so I spent most of the day on the floor by the fire while the kids played quietly.
